Rollers Taken On Systems

Township Rollers return to the National Stadium for the first time in 2023 as the Blues take on Security Systems in a Premier League match scheduled for a Sunday afternoon 4 pm kickoff.

Having started the 2023 calendar year with a dominant performance against Prisons XI that could only yield a narrow 1-0 triumph in Molepolole two weeks ago, Popa drew 2-2 away to Sua Flamingoes in Sua Town past weekend.

Rollers head coach Sérgio Traguil told Rollers Media that he has been working not only on his side’s tactical approach but also their mentality.

“I feel we need to have a strong, positive mentality. I have been introducing tactical changes and working on improving physical fitness, but the mindset change is very critical- the psychological side. This is Township Rollers, I have joined the biggest team in the country, one of the more recognised teams on the African continent. This needs to be reflected on the pitch when we play, we must impose ourselves, create and score goals, and stay positive even when we face challenges during games,” Sérgio said.

Systems, who lost 2-1 to BDF XI last weekend, having defeated Police XI 2-0 the previous weekend have had an inconsistent run in the Premier League this season.

But they have proved a difficult opponent on their day. Rollers and Systems drew 2-2 twice in the league last season.

“We know what Security Systems is capable of and that Rollers dropped points to them in the recent past season. But we know our own strength and we need to go to the pitch with the mentality to win the match. We have been working hard, and if the players adapt to just 30 percent of what we have been working on, I believe it will be good enough to get the three points,” Sérgio said.
