Wednesday night will see Township Rollers attempt to reach the summit of the BTC Premiership log when the Blues face Prisons XI in a BTC Premiership match to be played at the Molepolole Sports Complex on Wednesday night; kickoff 19:00.

Popa enter their sixth match of the campaign third on the log after four wins and a single draw in the in their first five league matches of the season. Entering the match just one point behind the top two sides, Rollers now seek a victory that would take them top of the log.

Speaking to rollersfc.com, assistant coach Leutlwetse “Luu” Tshireletso said the team wants carry on with their good performance from their previous match just before the Independence Day weekend.

“We have prepared well, we will be missing one player “Skheza” (Keeagile Kagiso Kgosipula) who got injured while with the national team. Of the players who went to the national team, two will be out from the starting line up from our last game (the 3-0 win over Police XI last Thursday night at UB). We will use the others, we want to carry on where we left off and continue with our winning ways,” Tshireletso said.

Since returning to the top flight, Prisons have managed just one win in six league outings, garnering five points after that win over Sankoyo Bush Bucks and the draws against Police XI and Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Tshireletso expects Prison to put up a fight but believes if Rollers maintain the form from the previous match Popa could be victorious.

“Prisons are still struggling for now, but they will use every game to fight for points, it will not be easy, they will put up a brave fight. Looking at our last match, we played a balanced match in both the first half and the second half we played quality football,” Tshireletso said.

On 13 points, Rollers are just one point behind the first and second placed sides- Jwaneng Galaxy and BDF XI respectively. The Blues enter their midweek fixture witg game in hand over the top two sides and victory could thus thrust Popa to the top ahead of the Match Day Seven fixtures scheduled for the weekend.
