Rollers Hit Prisons For Three

Township Rollers brought their legion of fans some Good Friday cheer, the Blues defeating Prisons XI 3-1 at the National Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Segolame Boy opened the scoring for Popa with a well taken first half penalty, before Tlhalefo Molebatsi added a second with a close range header early in the second half.

Prisons reduced the deficit through Karabo Setoutwe before Motsholetsi Sikele added Rollers’ third to give the contest a 3-1 scoreline.

Although the game, particularly the first half was played at a slower pace than normal, Rollers were still fully deserving of the triumph after another dominant display.

THE MATCH

The two sides took a bit of time to settle and it took a 16th minute penalty for Popa to break the deadlock.

Prisons’ Moabi Sebele fouled Sikele in the box and Boy neatly converted with a well executed spotkick to give Rollers the lead

An injury to Aaron Marc Dion forced Rollers into an early substitution, Edwin Moalosi coming on in the 26th minute

Late on in a first half of few chances Tlhalefo Molebatsi and Ovella Ochieng saw their chances go narrowly wide.

Six minutes into the second half, Boy played the ball wide to Edwin Moalosi who whipped in a cross headed in by Molebatsi for Rollers’ second goal.

Just when Popa seemed in cruise control, Prisons took an advantage of a lapse in the Rollers backline to attack Kabelo Dambe’s goal; Dambe making an impressive one handed save only for Setoutwe to take advantage to convert for the Warders, making it 2-1.

But Sikele, who got the Man of the Match award, restored Rollers’ two goal cushion in the 68th minute with the Blues’ third.

Boy and Mosha Gaolaolwe had close attempts late on but it ended 3-1 to Rollers.
