Rollers, Forest Vie For Semi Final Berth

A place in the Mascom Top 8 semi final will be at stske when Township Rollers and Black Forest enter the second leg of their Mascom Top 8 quarterfinal at the Molepolole Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

Rollers will look to finish off the tie after taking a one goal advantage in the first leg last week Friday at the same venue, and interim head coach Thabo Motang wants his charges to leave nothing to chance in pursuit of victory.

“We will respect Forest because they are also hungry and they want to turn their season around,” Motang told on Friday. “So I want the team to be fully focused and put maximum effort into winning the match. Our team has recovered well from the travelling we did coming back from Lesotho. The hiccup we have is that some of our players have received knocks- Mosha (Gaolaolwe), TT (Thatayaone Ditlhokwe) and FC (Lemponye Tshireletso) are unlikely to play because of injury. Edwin Moalosi is back in training and he will compete for a place in the match day squad.”

After arriving in Gaborone on Wednesday after the CAF Champions League assignment in Lesotho, Rollers had training sessions on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

“We have been working on the attacking aspect of our game; composure, decision making and finishing. We want to keep being positive in taking the game to our opponents and we want to make sure we are more ruthless in attack,” Motang said.

In the absence of three key players, Popa will look to carefully use the strength in depth of the playing squad. Forest on the other hand will be looking for their first win over Rollers in what will be their seventh attempt.

Kickoff at the Molepolole Sports Complex is at 16:00.

  1. We T/Rollers supporters are angered by the way the team played. You need to go to the drawing board. We need the coach whom the players will respect him and play fruitful football, winning games.
The backline made silly mistakes. Goal keeper played badly. We need Masuke be manning posts.
