Rollers And OPPO Launch Partnership

Township Rollers on Monday officially launched a partnership with 3G Mobile Botswana, a wholesale trader in mobile devices, through their flagship mobile brand OPPO.

According to 3G Mobile Botswana Country Manager Mr Stanley Henning, OPPO is the fourth largest mobile device brand in the world, with 4G and 5G products, and has been working on getting a footprint on the African market.

“We have partnered with Rollers to leverage on the club’s popularity as Botswana’s biggest sporting brand.
The whole idea of linking OPPO with another winning brand was born when I met Rollers Club President Mr Jagdish Shah. Although one of the world’s biggest mobile brands, OPPO is new in Botswana and the African continent, and lesser known here than it is in the American, European and Asian markets. We believe we can improve our footprint through partnering with a big brand like Rollers,” Henning said.

He added that Rollers was appealing to them due to the club brand visibility, popularity, being a winning brand and having a rich history.

They would offer 35 percentage discount on OPPO mobile phones to card carrying Township Rollers members in good standing.

Also, a Rollers player chosen as Man of the Match in a Popa home game would get an OPPO phone. This had already started recently in Lobatse when Shaun Gcumeni was awarded the first such prize after the league game against Police XI.

At the launch, OPPO mobile phones were presented to Rollers Public Relations Officer Mr Bafana Pheto, head coach Thabo Motang, captain Simisani Mathumo, Club Media Officer/Website Chief Content Writer Pako Lebanna, Club Photographer Gao Kediseng and Website Developer & Operator Simon Makole.

Rollers Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Bennett Mamelodi expressed gratitude on the partnership. He said other than benefitting the Rollers players and the Popa Media Team, the largest beneficiaries would be card carrying supporters who could now purchase OPPO phones at a huge discount.

He said OPPO is the official Mobile device partner of the FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon Tennis, FC Barcelona and partnering with such a major global brand was a signal of major things to come at Popa.

Head coach Motang said the gesture would inspire his team to perform harder to bring back the success historically associated with the club.
