The game was played at a slow tempo for much of the 90 minutes, particularly in the first half, but this suited the Blues quite well as Popa passed the ball with patient build ups from the back, and Orebonye’s goal was enough to get the result.

Gunners were more lively in a more open second half but overall Rollers were full value for the win which keeps Popa top of the log on 19 points after six wins and a single draw.

A Rollers throw in flicked into the box by Mogorosi reached Orebonye who headed just wide of Mbise’s goal.

With both sides comfortable on the ball and Rollers patiently building up from the back, a lot of the football was played in the middle areas of the pitch, with little goalmouth action during the first half hour of the match.

The impressive Monyake and Cooper linked well in the middle of the park for Rollers.

Orebonye opened Rollers’ account, receiving the ball deep in the Gunners danger zone then slotting home past Mbise.

Gunners missed a glorious chance when a ball brought down in the box by Botshelo Mafoko had Dikago stretched leaving Ogomoditse Sitang free at the near post; but Sitang shot wide with a gaping goal at his mercy.

Ditlhokwe was brought on for Vanderwesthuizen a like for like change for the Rollers left back position.

Sitang had another chance but shot wide from the edge of the box after receiving the ball from Kenanao Flo Kgetholetsile.

Kamogelo Matsabu replaced Orebonye as Popa altered their attacking shape.

Mogorosi had a close range headed effort go over the bar with Mbise beaten.

Gunners started seeing more of the ball and in order to bring defensive shape to the midfield Rollers brought on Ivan Ntege for Monyake.

In the end, the single goal was sufficient for a Rollers victory.

  1. Well done the “sharp shooter” Orebonye, keep on banging goals. I wish we start banging more than one goals in a game. Imagine other teams score up to 4 goals, any way I know and trust that they shall come. No panic, hope that we will prepare well for Center Chiefs.

  2. Congrats Blue Army. We shall overcome

  3. Nicolas termination was overdue, He got termination of the contract. He did best, but unbecoming behaviour pushed him to the unwanted. Go and try somewhere
